California High School Basketball - Saugus nips Valencia

Saugus Centurions (Saugus, CA) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Valencia Vikings (Valencia, CA), 54-50 in a league match.

With the victory, Saugus advances its record to 5-1 on the year. The Centurions travel to West Ranch (Valencia, CA) to face the Wildcats in a Foothill match on Friday, December 12. The Wildcats enter the match with a record of 2-5. West Ranch lost 69-65 in their recent league match against Canyon (Canyon Country, CA)

The Vikings now own a 7-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Harvard-Westlake for a non-league contest on Thursday, December 11. Valencia will battle a Wolverines team coming off a 69-29 non-league win over Bakersfield Christian (Bakersfield, CA). The Wolverines record now stands at 8-1.
