California High School Basketball - Santa Rosa Academy overwhelmed by Temecula Prep
December 9, 2025: Menifee, CA 92584 In Tuesday's league test, the Temecula Prep Patriots (Winchester, CA) basketball squad trounced the host Santa Rosa Academy Rangers (Menifee, CA), by a score of 54-29.
Next, the Patriots encounter the Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School Mustangs (Temecula, CA) in a South Valley bout, on Thursday, December 11. Temecula Prep will attempt to move on its 9-2 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 2-4 record after their 52-13 league loss to California Military Institute (Perris, CA).
In their next game, the Rangers encounter the San Jacinto Valley Academy Wolves (San Jacinto, CA) in a South Valley challenge, on Monday, December 15. Santa Rosa Academy will attempt to improve on its 4-4 season record. The Wolves come into the challenge with a 5-3 record after their 53-46 league win over Desert Christian Academy (Bermuda Dunes, CA).
First Quarter
Only two days after winning the SoCal Classic Girls Varsity Basketball Tournament, the Temecula Prep Patriots rematched their championship game opponent, the Santa Rosa Academy Rangers for league play. The first quarter saw a competitive contest, with each team going back and forth with baskets. By quarters end, the Patriots led 13 to 11. Bailey Litt had 6 points, Samiyah Antoine added 5, and Makayla Martin finished the teams scoring with 2 for herself.
Second Quarter
The Patriots began to pull ahead through out the second quarter, outscoring the Rangers 13 to 2. Bailey Litt led the quarter in scoring with 5 points scored. Izzy Alvarado made her return from injury adding 4 points in the quarter. Makayla Martin and Naya Mejia each added a 2 point basket in the quarter as well.
Third Quarter
The Patriots kept the heavy defensive pressure, allowing them to score 3 total 3rd quarter points, making it 5 points scored total between 2nd and 3rd quarter. Offensively, the Patriots scored 16. The ball was spread very evenly, allowing many players to score in the quarter. Samiyah Antoine scored 5, (hitting a 2nd 3 point basket in the quarter). Bailey Litt added 4 points to her total, giving her 15 in 3 quarters. Kalea Mejia scored 3 points, while Makayla Martin and Naya Mejia added 2 points each.
Fourth Quarter
By the start of the 4th quarter, the Patriots seemingly had control of the game. The Rangers did make a push in the quarter, outscoring the Patriots 13-12. The final score saw the Temecula Prep Patriots come out victorious with a score of 54 -29. By the games end, each player who entered the game from the Patriots were able to get into the scoring column with Bailey Litt leading the way with 21 points scored. Samiyah Antioine led rebounding with 14, as well as adding a team high with 5 assists. The Patriots are now 1-0 in league play.
