Sterling City Eagles (Sterling City, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Blackwell Hornets (Blackwell, TX), 40-30 in a league bout.

With the win, Sterling City upgrades its record to 19-11 on the season. The Eagles host Water Valley (Water Valley, TX) to play the Wildcats in a 1A Region II District 11 bout on Friday, February 4. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 16-9.

Next up, the Hornets play the Water Valley Wildcats (Water Valley, TX) in a 1A Region II District 11 bout, on Tuesday, February 8. Blackwell will attempt to upgrade on its 13-14 season record.
