Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC), 35-25 in a league bout.

With the win, Starmount upgrades its record to 7-8 on the season. The Rams travel to East Wilkes (Ronda, NC) to clash with the Cardinals in a 1A Conference 36 bout on Wednesday, February 2. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 13-6. East Wilkes won 36-12 in their recent league bout against Alleghany (Sparta, NC)

Next up, the Buckin' Elks clash with the Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC) in a 1A Conference 36 bout, on Wednesday, February 2. Elkin will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Granite Bears go into the bout with a 9-6 record after their 45-23 league win over North Stokes (Danbury, NC).
