Illinois High School Basketball - Seneca nips St. Bede
February 1, 2022: Seneca, IL 61360 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Seneca Fighting Irish (Seneca, IL) and the visiting St. Bede Bruins (Peru, IL), saw Seneca's basketball squad hold off St. Bede by a count of 48-41.
With the victory, Seneca upgrades its record to 19-9 on the campaign. The Fighting Irish host Dwight (Dwight, IL) to play the Trojans in a Tri-County challenge on Monday, February 7. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 4-22. Dwight lost 37-36 in their recent non-league challenge against Wilmington (Wilmington, IL)
Next up, the Bruins play the Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL) in a Three Rivers - East challenge, on Friday, February 4. St. Bede will attempt to upgrade on its 11-14 season record. The Comets come into the challenge with a 2-20 record after their 44-42 non-league win over Riverdale (Port Byron, IL).
