The Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) basketball knocked off the host Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), 54-34 in Tuesday's league test.

The Pioneers (14-3) will now prepare for their test against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Panthers go into the test with a 2-6 record. In their last test, Hibriten went down by Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC), 47-41, in a league test.

The Cougars now own a 8-7 record. They play next when they travel to South Caldwell for a test on Friday, February 4. Alexander Central will encounter a Spartans squad coming off a 44-32 league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 2-3.
