February 1, 2024: Mineral, VA 23117 The Freeman Mavericks (Richmond, VA) basketball knocked off the host Louisa County Lions (Mineral, VA), 42-22 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Mavericks (11-5) will now prepare for their test against J.R. Tucker (Henrico, VA). The Tigers go into the non-league test with a 3-12 record. In their last test, J.R. Tucker notched a victory over Carver College and Career Academy (Chester, VA), 35-29, in a non-league test.
The Lions now own a 10-8 record. They play next when they travel to Orange County for a non-league test on Friday, February 2. Louisa County will encounter a Fighting Hornets squad coming off a 61-60 non-league win over Goochland (Goochland, VA). The Fighting Hornets record now stands at 8-8.
