In Saturday's non-league test, the Massac County Patriots (Metropolis, IL) basketball squad trounced the visiting Cairo Pilots (Cairo, IL), by a score of 80-52.

Next, the Patriots encounter the Carterville Lions (Carterville, IL) in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio test, on Monday, February 3. Massac County will attempt to improve on its 10-11 season record. The Lions come into the test with a 10-12 record after their 66-48 non-league loss to Benton (Benton, IL).
