Swink Lions (Swink, CO) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Las Animas Trojans (Las Animas, CO), 34-22 in a league bout.

With the win, Swink upgrades its record to 5-13 on the season. The Lions travel to McClave (McClave, CO) to play the Cardinals in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 14. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 16-0. McClave won 48-39 in their recent non-league bout against Fleming (Fleming, CO)

Next up, the Trojans play the Holly Wildcats (Holly, CO) in a 3A/2A Santa Fe bout, on Tuesday, February 14. Las Animas will attempt to upgrade on its 6-12 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 8-10 record after their 61-38 non-league loss to Cheyenne Wells (Cheyenne Wells, CO).
