February 10, 2023: Mosca, CO 81146 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Sangre de Cristo Thunderbirds (Mosca, CO) and the visiting Sierra Grande Panthers (Blanca, CO), saw Sangre de Cristo's basketball squad overcome Sierra Grande by a tally of 56-43.
With the victory, Sangre de Cristo improves its record to 15-2 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds host Antonito (Antonito, CO) to confront the Trojans in a 1A Southern Peaks challenge on Friday, February 17. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 5-10. Antonito won 49-30 in their recent non-league challenge against Primero (Weston, CO)
Next up, the Panthers confront the Centennial Rams (San Luis, CO) in a 1A Southern Peaks challenge, on Saturday, February 11. Sierra Grande will attempt to improve on its 9-7 season record. The Rams come into the challenge with a 6-10 record after their 66-39 league win over Antonito (Antonito, CO).
