New Hampshire High School Basketball - Newport holds off Hopkinton
February 11, 2025: Contoocook, NH 03229 The Newport Tigers basketball team scored 45 points and limited the host Hopkinton Hawks to 42 in the Tigers league triumph on Tuesday.
The Tigers now possess a 14-4 record. They play next when they host Mascoma for a Division III game on Thursday, February 13. Newport will confront a Royals team coming off a 43-36 league loss to Stevens (Claremont, NH). The Royals record now stands at 1-18.
With the loss, Hopkinton falls to 10-6 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Stevens (Claremont, NH) to confront the Cardinals in a Division III game on Friday, February 14. The Cardinals go into the game with a record of 5-11. Stevens won 43-36 in their recent league game against Mascoma (Canaan, NH)
