New Iberia Yellowjackets (New Iberia, LA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Westgate Tigers (New Iberia, LA), 54-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, New Iberia upgrades its record to 24-7 on the season.

Next up, the Tigers play the Northside Vikings (Lafayette, LA) in a 4A District 5 bout, on Tuesday, February 15. Westgate will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 12-10 record after their 58-53 league loss to St. Thomas More (Lafayette, LA).
