Illinois High School Basketball - Augusta Southeastern can't hold off Beardstown
February 12, 2024: Beardstown, IL 62618 The Beardstown Tigers basketball team scored 57 points and held the visiting Augusta Southeastern Suns to 50 in the Tigers league triumph on Monday.
The Tigers now sport a 20-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lewistown for a non-league contest on Tuesday, February 13. Beardstown will battle a Indians team coming off a 53-40 league loss to Astoria/VIT (Astoria, IL). The Indians record now stands at 3-22.
The Suns (9-14) will now prepare for their contest against West Prairie (Sciota, IL). The Cyclones enter the non-league contest with a 4-24 record. In their last contest, West Prairie was nudged by Hartsburg-Emden (Hartsburg, IL), 69-63, in a non-league contest.
