Illinois High School Basketball - Illinois Math & Science Academy can't hold off Newark

The Newark Norsemen basketball team scored 49 points and restricted the visiting Illinois Math & Science Academy Titans to 47 in the Norsemen league victory on Monday.

The Norsemen now sport a 10-17 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to LaMoille for a Little Ten contest on Tuesday, February 13. Newark will battle a Lions team coming off a 64-29 non-league loss to Dakota (Dakota, IL). The Lions record now stands at 7-20.

The Titans (8-19) will now prepare for their contest against Somonauk (Somonauk, IL). The Bobcats come into the Little Ten contest with a 14-15 record. In their last contest, Somonauk was nudged by Plano (Plano, IL), 65-49, in a non-league contest.
