Illinois High School Basketball - Southwestern edges Hillsboro

February 14, 2023: Piasa, IL 62079

The Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) basketball nipped the visiting Hillsboro Hiltoppers (Hillsboro, IL), 54-50 in Tuesday's league test.

The Piasa Birds (16-14) will now prepare for their test against Litchfield (Litchfield, IL). The Purple Panthers go into the South Central test with a 15-13 record. In their last test, Litchfield was tipped by North Mac (Virden, IL), 61-56, in a league test.

The Hiltoppers now own a 15-13 record. They play next when they host Greenville for a South Central test on Thursday, February 16. Hillsboro will encounter a Comets squad coming off a 61-26 league win over Carlinville (Carlinville, IL). The Comets record now stands at 18-11.
