Punxsutawney Chucks (Punxsutawney, PA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Homer-Center Wildcats (Homer City, PA), 55-34 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Punxsutawney upgrades its record to 9-7 on the season. The Chucks travel to Bradford (Bradford, PA) to play the Owls in a District 9 bout on Friday, February 16. The Owls go into the bout with a record of 8-13. Bradford lost 41-35 in their recent league challenge against Elk County Catholic (St. Marys, PA)

Next up, the Wildcats confront the Northern Cambria Colts (Northern Cambria, PA) in a Heritage challenge, on Wednesday, February 21. Homer-Center will attempt to improve on its 9-13 season record. The Colts come into the challenge with a 15-7 record after their 49-47 non-league win over Blacklick Valley (Nanty Glo, PA).
