Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Michigan City Wolves (Michigan City, IN) and the host Merrillville Pirates (Merrillville, IN), saw Michigan City's basketball squad hold off Merrillville by a tally of 72-67.

With the victory, Michigan City improves its record to 16-6 on the campaign.

Next up, the Pirates confront the Hobart Brickies (Hobart, IN) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, February 18. Merrillville will attempt to improve on its 7-12 season record. The Brickies come into the challenge with a 9-10 record after their 36-33 league win over Highland (Highland, IN).
