West Virginia High School Basketball - Nitro fells Nicholas County

February 17, 2023: Summersville, WV 26651

Nitro Wildcats (Nitro, WV) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Nicholas County Grizzlies (Summersville, WV), 60-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Nitro upgrades its record to 10-11 on the season. The Wildcats host George Washington (Charleston, WV) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 21. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 16-2. George Washington won 82-66 in their recent league bout against Huntington (Huntington, WV)

Next up, the Grizzlies play the Hurricane Redskins (Hurricane, WV) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 21. Nicholas County will attempt to upgrade on its 10-9 season record. The Redskins go into the bout with a 9-11 record after their 86-53 league win over Riverside (Belle, WV).
