The Russell County Lakers basketball team scored 73 points and held the visiting Rockcastle County Rockets to 64 in the Lakers non-league triumph on Friday.

The Lakers now sport a 7-17 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cumberland County for a District 16 contest on Sunday, February 19.

The Rockets (10-13) will now prepare for their contest against Somerset (Somerset, KY). The Briar Jumpers enter the District 47 contest with a 14-8 record.
