New Mexico High School Basketball - Hondo Valley thwarts Carrizozo
February 18, 2025: Hondo, NM 88336 The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Hondo Valley Eagles (Hondo, NM) and the visiting Carrizozo Grizzlies (Carrizozo, NM), observed Hondo Valley's basketball team knock off Carrizozo by a score of 52-41.
The Eagles (9-15) will now prepare for their challenge against Corona/Vaughn (Corona, NM). The Cardinals come into the A District 3 challenge with a 3-19 record. In their last challenge, Corona/Vaughn dropped by Alamo Navajo (Magdalena, NM), 84-28, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Grizzlies encounter the Mountainair Mustangs (Mountainair, NM) in a A District 3 challenge, on Wednesday, February 19. Carrizozo will attempt to improve on its 5-16 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 19-6 record after their 78-50 league win over Alamo Navajo (Magdalena, NM).
