February 18, 2025: Salem, SD 57058 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars (Salem, SD) and the visiting Tri-Valley Mustangs (Colton, SD), observed McCook Central/Montrose's basketball team knock off Tri-Valley by a score of 68-60.
The Fighting Cougars (11-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Mt. Vernon/Plankinton (Mt. Vernon, SD). The Titans come into the A Region 5 challenge with a 5-14 record. In their last challenge, Mt. Vernon/Plankinton was knocked off by Parkston (Parkston, SD), 93-52, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Mustangs encounter the Lennox Orioles (Lennox, SD) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, February 20. Tri-Valley will attempt to improve on its 4-13 season record. The Orioles come into the challenge with a 12-4 record after their 75-56 non-league win over Pine Ridge (Pine Ridge, SD).
