The Ledford Panthers (Thomasville, NC) basketball nipped the host Asheboro Blue Comets (Asheboro, NC), 34-32 in Wednesday's league test.

The Panthers (10-6) will now prepare for their test against Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC). The Grizzlies go into the 3A Conference 47 test with a 16-4 record. In their last test, Oak Grove got by Central Davidson (Lexington, NC), 64-37, in a league test.

The Blue Comets now own a 2-17 record. They play next when they host North Davidson for a 3A Conference 47 test on Friday, February 4. Asheboro will encounter a Black Knights squad coming off a 79-44 league win over Montgomery Central (Troy, NC). The Black Knights record now stands at 14-2.
