Bishop McNamara Mustangs (Forestville, MD) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Saint John Paul the Great Catholic Wolves (Dumfries, VA), 80-71 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Bishop McNamara upgrades its record to 20-5 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Bishop Ireton (Alexandria, VA) to play the Cardinals in a VISAA Division I bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 12-11. Bishop Ireton lost 83-49 in their recent league bout against Gonzaga (Washington, DC)

Next up, the Wolves play the Woodberry Forest Tigers (Woodberry Forest, VA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 4. Saint John Paul the Great Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 8-11 season record.
