Illinois High School Basketball - Belleville East holds off Edwardsville
February 2, 2024: Belleville, IL 62221 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Belleville East Lancers (Belleville, IL) and the visiting Edwardsville Tigers (Edwardsville, IL), saw Belleville East's basketball squad hold off Edwardsville by a tally of 45-44.
With the victory, Belleville East improves its record to 17-9 on the campaign. The Lancers travel to Alton (Alton, IL) to confront the Redbirds in a Southwestern challenge on Saturday, February 3. The Redbirds come into the challenge with a record of 15-10. Alton won 45-42 in their recent non-league challenge against Granite City (Granite City, IL)
Next up, the Tigers confront the Waterloo Bulldogs (Waterloo, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Edwardsville will attempt to improve on its 15-10 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 15-12 record after their 51-44 league win over Civic Memorial (Bethalto, IL).
