Goldsboro Cougars (Goldsboro, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Beddingfield Bruins (Wilson, NC), 53-41 in a league bout.

With the victory, Goldsboro upgrades its record to 17-1 on the campaign. The Cougars host Princeton (Princeton, NC) to play the Bulldogs in a 2A Neuse bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 5-12. Princeton lost 64-24 in their recent league bout against Eastern Wayne (Goldsboro, NC)

Next up, the Bruins play the North Johnston Panthers (Kenly, NC) in a 2A Neuse bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Beddingfield will attempt to upgrade on its 14-4 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 13-4 record after their 42-33 league win over Spring Creek (Seven Springs, NC).
