Kentucky High School Basketball - Harlan County nips Letcher County Central
February 2, 2024: Harlan, KY 40831 Harlan County Black Bears (Harlan, KY) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Letcher County Central Cougars / Lady Cougars (Whitesburg, KY), 45-42 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Harlan County upgrades its record to 13-10 on the campaign. The Black Bears host Leslie County (Hyden, KY) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 12-9. Leslie County won 58-29 in their recent league bout against Buckhorn (Buckhorn, KY)
Next up, the Cougars / Lady Cougars play the Belfry Pirates (Belfry, KY) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 3. Letcher County Central will attempt to upgrade on its 15-7 season record. The Pirates come into the bout with a 6-11 record after their 66-34 league win over Phelps (Phelps, KY).
