Michigan High School Basketball - Newaygo nudges Shelby
February 21, 2024: Newaygo, MI 49337 Newaygo Lions (Newaygo, MI) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Shelby Tigers (Shelby, MI), 48-41 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Newaygo upgrades its record to 10-9 on the season. The Lions travel to Chippewa Hills (Remus, MI) to clash with the Warriors in a Central State bout on Friday, February 23. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 1-18. Chippewa Hills lost 67-33 in their recent non-league bout against Beal City (Mt. Pleasant, MI)
Next up, the Tigers clash with the Potter's House Christian Pumas (Wyoming, MI) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 22. Shelby will attempt to upgrade on its 5-14 season record. The Pumas go into the bout with a 8-9 record after their 64-13 league win over West Michigan Aviation Academy (Grand Rapids, MI).
