Akron-Fairgrove Vikings (Fairgrove, MI) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Ashley Bears (Ashley, MI), 59-46 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Akron-Fairgrove upgrades its record to 8-8 on the campaign. The Vikings host Carsonville-Port Sanilac (Carsonville, MI) to play the Tigers in a North Central Thumb bout on Friday, February 25. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 6-11. Carsonville-Port Sanilac lost 48-0 in their recent non-league bout against Merritt Academy (New Haven, MI)

Next up, the Bears play the St. Charles Bulldogs (St. Charles, MI) in a Mid-State bout, on Friday, February 25. Ashley will attempt to upgrade on its 0-16 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 4-11 record after their 55-53 league loss to Coleman (Coleman, MI).
