Fort Bend Elkins Knights (Missouri City, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host George Ranch Longhorns (Richmond, TX), 6-4 in a league challenge.

The Knights now own a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Livingston for a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 24. Fort Bend Elkins will battle a Lions squad coming off a 8-7 non-league win over Lovelady (Lovelady, TX). The Lions record now stands at 5-3.

With the loss, George Ranch falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Longhorns travel to Fort Bend Travis (Richmond, TX) to battle the Tigers in a 6A Region III District 20 challenge on Tuesday, March 1. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 5-2. Fort Bend Travis won 12-1 in their recent league challenge against Fort Bend Austin (Sugar Land, TX)
