The Akiachak Huskies basketball team scored 88 points and restricted the visiting Newhalen Malamutes to 62 in the Huskies non-league victory on Thursday.

The Huskies now sport a 13-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Tuluksak for a 1A Greater Kuskokwim contest on Friday, February 23. Akiachak will battle a Wolverines team coming off a 42-29 league loss to Kalskag (Upper Kalskag, AK). The Wolverines record now stands at 0-7.

The Malamutes (10-12) will now prepare for their contest against Aniak (Aniak, AK). The Halfbreeds come into the non-league contest with a 14-7 record. In their last contest, Aniak was routed by Bristol Bay (Naknek, AK), 59-29, in a non-league contest.
