Hondo Owls (Hondo, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Somerset Bulldogs (Somerset, TX), 9-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Owls now own a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rudder for a non-league challenge on Friday, February 24. Hondo will battle a Rangers squad coming off a 7-0 non-league win over Charlotte (Charlotte, TX). The Rangers record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, Somerset falls to 2-9 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Randolph (Universal City, TX) to battle the Ro-Hawks in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 25. The Ro-Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 0-8.
