The United Longhorns routed the visiting Nixon Mustangs softball squad by a count of 7-0 in Friday's non-league battle.

The Longhorns (7-1) will now prepare for their battle against Zapata (Zapata, TX). The Hawks go into the non-league battle with a 4-3 record. In their last battle, Zapata nudged Winn (Eagle Pass, TX), 9-2, in a non-league battle.

The Mustangs now sport a 3-6 record. They play next when they host Del Rio for a non-league battle on Saturday, February 25. Nixon will meet a Rams squad coming off a 14-4 non-league loss to San Angelo Central (San Angelo, TX). The Rams record now stands at 3-2.
