Texas High School Softball - Akins holds off Davenport
February 25, 2022: Austin, TX 78748 Spectators at Friday's non-league match between the Akins Eagles (Austin, TX) and the visiting Davenport Wolves (San Antonio, TX), witnessed Akins's softball squad tip Davenport by a count of 6-4.
The Eagles now sport a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Leander for a non-league match on Thursday, March 3. Akins will face a Lions squad coming off a 5-1 league win over Rouse (Leander, TX). The Lions record now stands at 5-4.
With the loss, Davenport moves to 8-3 on the season. The Wolves travel to Cuero (Cuero, TX) to face the Gobblers in a non-league match on Friday, February 25. The Gobblers go into the match with a record of 3-0. Cuero won 17-1 in their recent non-league match against St. Anthony (San Antonio, TX)
