Fans at Wednesday's non-league contest between the River Islands Riptide (Lathrop, CA) and the host Franklin Yellowjackets (Stockton, CA), observed River Islands's volleyball team top Franklin by a count of 3-1.

The Riptide (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Escalon (Escalon, CA). The Cougars enter the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Escalon was knocked off by Merced (Merced, CA), 3-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Yellowjackets meet the Bethel Jaguars (Vallejo, CA) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, March 1. Franklin will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record. The Jaguars enter the contest with a 2-1 record after their 3-0 league loss to Pinole Valley (Pinole, CA).
