In Monday's non-league contest, the Butler Bulldogs (Matthews, NC) softball team overwhelmed the host Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC), by a margin of 21-10.

With the triumph, Butler moves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Bulldogs host Myers Park (Charlotte, NC) to play the Mustangs in a non-league contest on Thursday, March 3. The Mustangs come into the contest with a record of 0-1. Myers Park lost 8-6 in their recent non-league contest against Hough (Cornelius, NC)

In their next game, the Mavericks play the Pine Lake Prep Pride (Mooresville, NC) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, March 2. Mallard Creek will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record. The Pride come into the contest with a 1-0 record after their 13-0 non-league win over Lake Norman Charter (Huntersville, NC).
