Choctaw County Chargers (Ackerman, MS) followers left the game pleased Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS), 8-5 in a non-league match.

With the triumph, Choctaw County moves its record to 4-1 on the season. The Chargers host Choctaw Central (Philadelphia, MS) to battle the Warriors in a non-league match on Saturday, March 1. The Warriors come into the match with a record of 1-3. Choctaw Central lost 6-3 in their recent non-league match against Neshoba Central (Philadelphia, MS)

The Cougars now possess a 1-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Houston for a non-league match on Saturday, March 1. South Pontotoc will battle a Hilltoppers squad coming off a 16-0 non-league win over Columbus (Columbus, MS). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 4-2.
