Gray's Creek Bears (Hope Mills, NC) followers left the game pleased Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC), 5-2 in a non-league match.

With the triumph, Gray's Creek moves its record to 1-2 on the season. The Bears travel to North Brunswick (Leland, NC) to battle the Scorpions in a non-league match on Monday, March 3. The Scorpions come into the match with a record of 1-1. North Brunswick won 14-8 in their recent non-league match against South Columbus (Tabor City, NC)

The Vikings now possess a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lee County for a Sandhills 3A/4A match on Tuesday, March 4. Union Pines will battle a Yellow Jackets squad coming off a 9-8 non-league win over Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 3-0.
