The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the West Central Trojans (Francesville, IN) and the host Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles (Lake Station, IN), observed West Central's basketball team edge Lake Station Edison by a score of 58-54.

The Trojans (15-7) will now prepare for their challenge against South Newton (Kentland, IN). The Rebels come into the non-league challenge with a 6-16 record. In their last challenge, South Newton edged Attica (Attica, IN), 55-52, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Fighting Eagles encounter the Morgan Township Cherokees (Valparaiso, IN) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, March 1. Lake Station Edison will attempt to improve on its 4-18 season record. The Cherokees come into the challenge with a 4-15 record after their 62-59 league loss to South Central (Union Mills, IN).
