The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Desert Edge Scorpions (Goodyear, AZ) and the visiting Safford Bulldogs (Safford, AZ), observed Desert Edge's softball team get by Safford by a tally of 7-2.

The Scorpions (2-1) will now prepare for their bout against Copper Canyon (Glendale, AZ). The Aztecs go into the non-league bout with a 0-2 record. In their last outing, Copper Canyon was routed by Fairfax (Laveen, AZ), 11-0, in a non-league outing.

With the loss, Safford moves to 1-1 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Gilbert Christian (Gilbert, AZ) to encounter the Knights in a non-league outing on Monday, March 3.
