Hewitt-Trussville Huskies (Trussville, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Central Red Devils (Phenix City, AL), 8-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Huskies now own a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Oak Mountain for a 7A Area 6 challenge on Tuesday, March 5. Hewitt-Trussville will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 10-1 non-league loss to Central (Phenix City, AL). The Eagles record now stands at 5-4.

With the loss, Central falls to 4-3 on the campaign. The Red devils travel to Sardis (Boaz, AL) to battle the Lions in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 2. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Sardis lost 16-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Hoover (Hoover, AL)
