February 3, 2023: Maroa, IL 61756 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Athens Warriors (Athens, IL) and the host Maroa-Forsyth Trojans (Maroa, IL), saw Athens's basketball squad overcome Maroa-Forsyth by a tally of 51-42.
With the victory, Athens improves its record to 14-12 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Paxton-Buckley-Loda (Paxton, IL) to confront the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 4. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 4-19. Paxton-Buckley-Loda lost 60-22 in their recent league challenge against Prairie Central (Fairbury, IL)
Next up, the Trojans confront the St. Thomas More Sabers (Champaign, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, February 4. Maroa-Forsyth will attempt to advance on its 12-13 season record. The Sabers go into the test with a 17-9 record after their 60-40 league win over Rantoul (Rantoul, IL).
