Axtell Eagles (Axtell, KS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Valley Heights Mustangs (Blue Rapids, KS), 60-34 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Axtell upgrades its record to 12-4 on the season. The Eagles travel to Frankfort (Frankfort, KS) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 2-13. Frankfort lost 63-43 in their recent non-league bout against Centralia (Centralia, KS)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Linn Bulldogs (Linn, KS) in a Twin Valley bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Valley Heights will attempt to upgrade on its 9-8 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 4-11 record after their 58-46 league loss to Troy (Troy, KS).
