Illinois High School Basketball - Coal City fells Herscher

February 3, 2023: Coal City, IL 60416

Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Herscher Tigers (Herscher, IL), 46-29 in a league bout.

With the win, Coal City upgrades its record to 11-15 on the season. The Coalers travel to Reed-Custer (Braidwood, IL) to play the Comets in a Illinois Central 8 bout on Friday, February 10. The Comets go into the bout with a record of 22-4.

Next up, the Tigers play the Clifton Central Comets (Clifton, IL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 6. Herscher will attempt to upgrade on its 5-21 season record. The Comets go into the bout with a 14-10 record after their 54-41 non-league win over Gardner-South Wilmington (Gardner, IL).
