Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Hammond Skyhawks (Columbia, SC) and the host Heathwood Hall Episcopal Highlanders (Columbia, SC), saw Hammond's basketball squad hold off Heathwood Hall Episcopal by a tally of 42-37.

With the victory, Hammond improves its record to 9-8 on the campaign. The Skyhawks host Cardinal Newman (Columbia, SC) to confront the Cardinals in a SCISA AAAA Region I challenge on Tuesday, February 7. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a record of 16-14. Cardinal Newman won 63-59 in their recent league challenge against Ben Lippen (Columbia, SC)
