Texas High School Basketball - Merkel overwhelmed by Jim Ned
February 3, 2023: Tuscola, TX 79562 The Jim Ned Indians basketball team scored 76 points and restricted the visiting Merkel Badgers to 36 in the Indians league victory on Friday.
The Indians now sport a 20-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Clyde for a 3A Region I District 6 contest on Tuesday, February 7. Jim Ned will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 55-53 league win over San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy (San Angelo, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 19-9.
The Badgers (15-14) will now prepare for their contest against Coahoma (Coahoma, TX). The Bulldogs come into the 3A Region I District 6 contest with a 14-12 record. In their last contest, Coahoma was routed by Wall (Wall, TX), 53-37, in a league contest.
