Texas High School Basketball - Sierra Blanca nips Marfa
February 3, 2023: Marfa, TX 79843 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Sierra Blanca Vaqueros (Sierra Blanca, TX) and the host Marfa Shorthorns (Marfa, TX), saw Sierra Blanca's basketball squad hold off Marfa by a tally of 60-58.
With the victory, Sierra Blanca improves its record to 3-10 on the campaign. The Vaqueros travel to Balmorhea (Balmorhea, TX) to play the Bears in a 1A Region II District 9 challenge on Tuesday, February 7. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 5-5.
Next up, the Shorthorns play the Van Horn Eagles (Van Horn, TX) in a 1A Region II District 9 challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Marfa will attempt to improve on its 7-7 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 18-10 record after their 48-24 league win over Fort Davis (Fort Davis, TX).
