Istrouma Indians (Baton Rouge, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting McKinley Panthers (Baton Rouge, LA), 49-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Istrouma upgrades its record to 11-17 on the season. The Indians travel to Tara (Baton Rouge, LA) to play the Trojans in a 4A District 6 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 9-12. Tara lost 35-32 in their recent non-league bout against East Iberville (St. Gabriel, LA)

Next up, the Panthers play the St. Michael Warriors (Baton Rouge, LA) in a 4A District 6 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. McKinley will attempt to upgrade on its 3-17 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 2-10 record after their 53-43 league loss to West Feliciana (St. Francisville, LA).
