Illinois High School Basketball - Macomb can't hold off Brown County
February 3, 2025: Macomb, IL 61455 Brown County Hornets (Mt. Sterling, IL) supporters left the game happy Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Macomb Bombers (Macomb, IL), 52-48 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Brown County advances its record to 19-7 on the year. The Hornets host Greenfield/Northwestern (Greenfield, IL) to face the Tigers in a Western Illinois Valley match on Wednesday, February 5. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 8-16. Greenfield/Northwestern won 48-19 in their recent league match against North Greene (White Hall, IL)
The Bombers now own a 19-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Deer Creek-Mackinaw for a non-league match on Tuesday, February 4. Macomb will face a Chiefs squad coming off a 47-28 league win over Lexington (Lexington, IL). The Chiefs record now stands at 23-3.
