February 3, 2025: Winthrop, IA 50682 East Buchanan Buccaneers (Winthrop, IA) boosters left the game satisfied Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting West Central Blue Devils (Maynard, IA), 84-19 in a non-league match.
With the victory, East Buchanan upgrades its record to 13-6 on the year. The Buccaneers travel to Alburnett (Alburnett, IA) to face the Pirates in a Tri-Rivers - West match on Thursday, February 6. The Pirates enter the match with a record of 7-10. Alburnett lost 55-41 in their recent league match against Springville (Springville, IA)
The Blue Devils now sport a 3-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to MFL MarMac for a Upper Iowa match on Tuesday, February 4. West Central will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 71-20 league win over Postville (Postville, IA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 13-8.
