In Tuesday's league contest, the host Manchester Valley Mavericks basketball team scored a close 81-74 triumph over the Westminster Owls.

The Mavericks (12-4) will now prepare for their contest against Century (Sykesville, MD). The Knights go into the Carroll County contest with a 13-2 record. In their last contest, Century nipped Francis Scott Key (Union Bridge, MD), 50-38, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Owls confront the Francis Scott Key Eagles (Union Bridge, MD) in a non-league contest, on Friday, February 6. Westminster will attempt to better on its 8-8 season record.
